Our Condolensces: Helen B. Nabozna

Helen (Borowski) Nabozna, 97, of New Fairfield, died peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late Edward J. Nabozna.
Helen was born on March 31, 1925, in the Bronx, a daughter of the late Joseph and Stefanie (Cybulski) Borowski. She graduated from Walton High School in the Bronx, New York and worked at the J.H. Monteath Company in New York where she met her husband, Edward. They were married on April 10, 1948 and lived in the Bronx raising their two children. In 1967 they moved to Candlewood Knolls in New Fairfield where Helen became very involved in the community. She eventually worked at the Danbury Superior Court for several years before retiring. Helen was an active member of the St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield and was an original member of the Ladies Guild Sewing Group. Family was the number one priority in her life, she attended all her children and grandchildren's school and sporting events.

Helen is survived by her daughter Claudia Kozlowski (Robert) and son John Nabozna (Anetra). She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, Stefanie Ott (Jeremy), Mary Tita (Kevin), Michael Kozlowski (Emma), John Nabozna, Justin Nabozna, James Nabozna and Jeffrey Nabozna; 9 great-grandchildren, Gavin, Makenna and Cole Ott, Addison, Brady and Jack Tita, Ryan, Reagan and Reese Kozlowski as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her 3 sisters and their husbands. Eleanor and Sylvester Klejna, Mae and Henry Roginski, Tess and Walter Kawejsza, her Godson Thomas Kawejsza and her In-laws, John and Caroline Nabozny, Mae and William Laman, Mildred Nabozny and Josephine Nabozny.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday April 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Edward the Confessor Church - 21 Brush Hill Road, New Fairfield, CT. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. Family and Friends will be received on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home; 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury. Contributions in Helen's Memory may be made to The Felician Sisters - 1335 Enfield Street; Enfield, CT 06082. The Family would like to thank the staff on 9 West and Palliative Care at Danbury Hospital for their care and support.
