Our Condolences: Marie Lumelleau

Marie A. Lumelleau, age 98 of New Fairfield, died on Sunday at the Danbury Hospital, She was the wife of the late Adrian L. Lumelleau.

Marie was born January 22, 1920 in New York City, the daughter of the late John L. and Janet (Crabtree) Rooney. She was a graduate of the College of Mount Saint Vincent, from where she received her Bachelor's Degree. Marie was employed as a school teacher for the City of New York for 40 years, teaching at PS 8 in the Bronx, New York.
Marie and her late husband Adrian were residents of Bronxville, NY since 1972, and were residents of New Fairfield in the Candlewood Knolls community for over 50 years. Marie was a founding parishioner of Saint Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield.

Marie is survived by her children: A. Richard Lumelleau and his wife Jerri of Bonita Springs, FL, Mary Anne Casey of Bronxville, NY, John Lumelleau and his wife Loretta of East Hampton, NY, Jeanette Kavanagh and her husband Thomas of New Fairfield, Cathleen Marasco and her husband Peter of New Fairfield, 11 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Marie was predeceased by her brother Joseph G. Rooney.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday March 15th at Saint Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield.
The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury on Wednesday March 14th from 4 to 8 p.m.
